TRANSIST 2017 INTERNATIONAL ISTANBUL TRANSPORT CONGRESS AND EXHIBITION and 5TH MEETING OF UCLG-MEWA COMMITTEE ON URBAN MOBILITY

 

TRANSIST 2017 International Istanbul Transport Congress and Exhibition, will take place on 2-4 November 2017 at Istanbul Congress Center & Lutfi Kirdar Rumeli Building.

Held with the theme of 4I: Innovation, Integration, Information, Intelligence and with the initiative of Istanbul Metropolitan Municipality, TRANSIST 2017 is an important platform leading new product and technology in the transportation sector.

TRANSIST 2017 International Istanbul Transport Congress and Exhibition aims to ensure a sustainable exchange of information between local authorities and industry representatives regarding academic topics for the transfer of new technologies and strategies in the field of transportation.  

Within the context of the event, alongside panels under the theme Open Innovation: Change that Drives Future, Integration of Transportation Means and Intercity Mobility, Information Systems and Effective Management of Transportation Networks, and Key to Integrated Planning of Transportation: Intelligent Solutions; a Smart Mobility Conference on Freedom of Cycling, and 12 workshops and 2 personal development seminars will also be organized.

5th Meeting of UCLG-MEWA Committee on Urban Mobility will also be held within the scope of TRANSIST 2017, on 4 November 2017, in cooperation with IETT, President of the Committee.

 UCLG Committee on Culture OBS: a global website on culture, cities and SDGs

Our network has accumulated fifteen years of specific practices and experiences. We have carried out a work of capitalization of these experiences and we are happy to announce that the Committee on Culture of UCLG recently launched a new website on “culture, cities and SDGs”, with good practices on culture and sustainable local development. The observatory, also called “OBS”, is a unique practical website in the world, it includes more than 120 good practices available in the 3 languages of UCLG (English, French and Spanish) that describe cultural projects, programmes and policies coming from cities and local governments from across the world.

 World Refugee Day Joint Event

On World Refugee Day, celebrated every year on June 20th since 2001, we commemorate and honor the people around the world, who had to flee their homes and to escape cruelty, due to violence and oppression they faced. Picking a different theme for each year, United Nations has set the theme of this year as "WithRefugees."
