- Workshops of UCLG’s Mediterranean Commission: 22-23 September 2016, Sousse, Tunisia
Workshops of UCLG’s Mediterranean Commission will be an interesting opportunity to develop links with local authorities of the Mediterranean and development partners. The meeting more oriented on strengthening technical capacities of municipalities will focus on migration, local finances, territorial development and youth employement.

- Climate Chance: Climate Actors Summit, 26-28 September 2016
The Climate Actors Summit will be a big forum to share good practices on climate change and find partners for projects. The rich program is this meeting will interest both elected representatives and technical elements.

- 3rd Mayoral Forum, Quezon City, Philippines, 29-30 September 2016
After a meeting in Quito in 2015, the 3rd Mayoral Forum will gather mayors in Quezon Philippines. The forum aims to gather mayors to exchange about policies strengthening the impact of diaspora and migrants in development as well as social cohesion. The Mayoral Forum is an interesting platform to exchange experience. The size of the forum is still limited and this provide a good opportunity to take get good visibility for interested municipalities.

- Municipality Excellence and Expansion Summit Riyadh, Saudi Arabia – 5-6 October 2016
The Municipality Excellence and Expansion Summit will be attended by over 150 C-level executives from the Saudi municipalities such as Governors, Mayors, Vice Mayors and CIOs. They will be able to hear first-hand about the latest trends and best practices in Municipal Affairs, urban planning and multi-channel service delivery, and citizen and community centric approaches as municipalities play a key role guaranteeing the social wellbeing of citizens.

- Implementation of Smart City Projects in the Mediterranean Region Meeting Casablanca, Morocco – 10-11 October 2016
The event will consist of a set of lectures on the topic, the presentation of good practices in Smart Initiatives in the Region, a workshop on implementation and governance issues and a site visit to Zenata project.

- Habitat III Conference, Quito, Ecuador, 17-20 October 2016
Habitat Conference is held once every 20 years. Habitat III is the first United Nations global summit after the adoption of the 2030 Agenda for Sustainable Development and the Sustainable Development Goals. It offers a unique opportunity to discuss the important challenge of how cities, towns, and villages are planned and managed in order to fulfill their role as drivers of sustainable development, and hence shape the implementation of new global development and climate change goals.

- UCLG-MEWA Executive Bureau and Council Meeting & Migration Management Summit, Şanlıurfa 8-10 November
UCLG-MEWA Executive Bureau and Council Meeting will bring together more than 100 municipalities from the MEWA region to review progresses of our organization and plan UCLG-MEWA involvement in the implementation of the Sustainable Development Goals as well as the Habitat III agreement. All 9 committees of UCLG-MEWA will present their report of activities and program for 2016-2019.
The Migration Management Summit will gather high level representatives of International and National institutions, local governments, civil society, academic and private sector to review best practices of migration management at local level and elaborate innovative policies to face upcoming challenges.
