Fatma Şahin, Mayor of Gaziantep and UCLG-MEWA President for 2016-2019 term, visited the General Secretariat of UCLG-MEWA prior to UCLG-MEWA Congress which will be held from 9-10 July 2019 in Amman, the capital city of Jordan. Mayor Şahin, who continued to do her work in the General Secretariat of UCLG-MEWA, reviewed the preparations towards the Congress with Mehmet Duman, UCLG-MEWA Secretary General. Administrative and financial issues as well as members that submitted their candidacies were handled in the meeting. Moreover, the results of the Pilot Project for Mapping the Sustainable Development Goals in Turkey, initiated in July 2018, were shared with Mayor Şahin. The report of UCLG-MEWA Retreat, which was held on 26-27 February 2019, was presented to Mayor Şahin also.
