UCLG-MEWA provides consultancy support to its members for the localization and monitoring of global agendas, particularly the Sustainable Development Goals, the New Urban Agenda and the Sendai Disaster Risk Reduction Framework. Through training programs, workshops and mutual learning platforms, UCLG-MEWA supports the strengthening of the institutional capacities of its members and provides the necessary mentoring support to ensure their presence in global platforms. In recent years, UCLG-MEWA has intensified its efforts to disseminate Voluntary Local Reviews (VLRs) at the regional level, which is the local monitoring mechanism of Sustainable Development Goals. UCLG-MEWA also operates as the regional support desk of the Global Covenant of Mayors for Climate and Energy (GCoM).
