Executive Bureau in Madrid: Updated information


Dear Members of the Executive Bureau,

We are pleased to provide you with final information relating to the 2017 UCLG Executive Bureau meetings in Madrid.

Time changes

An updated programme can found via the link below.

Please note that:

  • The Financial Management Committee will be held from 09:30 to 11:00
  • The Committee on Statutory Affairs will be held from 11:00 to 13:00

Other updates include a change to the meeting of Cities for Human Rights and the Right to the City, organized by Madrid City Hall and the UCLG Committee on Social Inclusion, Participatory Democracy and Human Rights (CISDPH).

UCLG Strategic Priorities 2016-2019

Please find attached the draft publication on UCLG Strategic Priorities 2016-2019, which will be discussed in the Business Session of the Executive Bureau, to facilitate reading.

Venues

The venue for the Executive Bureau Business Session on 19 April, as well as the World Forum on Urban Violence and Education for Coexistence and Peace on 19-21 April, will be La Nave Exhibition Centre:

The closed committee meetings and policy dialogues on 18 April will be held at the Headquarters of FEMP, the Spanish Federation of Municipalities and Provinces:

Registration

As you know, registration is now closed. Participants must have registered in advance for each event in which they wish to participate.

PARTICIPANTS WHO HAVE NOT FILLED IN THE REGISTRATION FORM WILL NOT BE GRANTED ACCESS TO THE MEETING VENUES.

Please note that extra security measures will be in place given the presence of the Spanish Royal Family.

Accreditation

ACCREDITATION IS COMPULSORY

Registration will be open at the Hotel Paseo del Arte from 15:00 to 18:00  on 18 April in order for participants to receive their accreditation in advance, and to avoid large queues at the venue on the morning of 19 April.

Registration desks will be open from 8:15 on 19 April at La Nave, before the start of the Executive Bureau session.

Please bring identification with you in order to obtain your badge. Badges will be issued for registered participants only.

Transport

Transport will be provided by the hosts from the two main hotels of the UCLG delegation (the Hotel Paseo del Arte, Atocha 123 and the NH Nacional, Paseo del Prado 48) to the meeting venue “La Nave” from 19‑21 April. A schedule will be available on the spot.

Transport is not provided from the hotels to the FEMP headquarters for the meetings on 18 April, since this venue is just a short walk from the two main hotels.

Transfers to and from the airport are not provided.

World Forum on Urban Violence and Education for Coexistence and Peace

FOR SECURITY REASONS, YOU MUST BE REGISTERED IN ORDER TO ENTER THE VENUE. PARTICIPANTS THAT DID NOT REGISTER WILL NOT BE ABLE TO ACCESS THE VENUE.

Please note that if you selected the option to attend the World Forum on the Executive Bureau registration form, you will automatically be registered for the World Forum.
