We would like to invite you to participate in the “Implementation of Smart City Projects in the Mediterranean Region” meeting, organized by the European Investment Bank (EIB) with the collaboration of the Polytechnic University of Madrid (UPM), Center for Mediterranean Integration (CMI) and the Urban Agency of Zenata (SAZ) on 10-11 October 2016 in Casablanca, Morocco.
The EIB is one of the main financial and technical supporters to Smart City projects that contribute to economic development through programs like ELENA or ASCIMER (EIB’s Institute EIBURS project) itself, and its lending priorities are focused on the development of urban areas by encouraging integrated planning and management solutions.
The event will consist of a set of lectures on the topic, the presentation of good practices in Smart Initiatives in the Region, a workshop on implementation and governance issues and a site visit to Zenata project, one of the EIB’s flagship projects in sustainable urban development in the FEMIP Region.
With this aim, I would like to propose you to participate as a speaker in one of the sessions of the Program. The organizer will take care of the travel and accommodation expenses of the speakers whereas participants will cover their own expenses. I kindly ask you to send me a confirmation if you are willing to participate as soon as possible.
