The World Organization of United Cities and Local Governments keeps a strong commitment towards the connection between culture and sustainable development. The International Award UCLG – Mexico City – Culture 21, held on a biennial basis, is one of the best examples of this commitment.
The objective of the Award is to recognize cities and individuals that have distinguished themselves through their contribution to culture as a key dimension in sustainable cities. It is also important:
· The Award is worth EUR 50,000 in the ‘City / Local or Regional Government’ category, and EUR 25,000 in the ‘Individual’ category.
· There is team of technical assistance to help candidate cities: award@agenda21culture.
· The deadline for submissions is 18 March 2020.
