Fırat Güçlüsoy, Councilor from Kyrenia Municipality in Turkish Republic of Northern Cyprus (TRNC), and his accompanying delegation paid a working visit to United Cities and Local Governments the Middle East and West Asia (UCLG-MEWA) General Secretariat on 11-13 July 2021.
During their visit, the preparations for the “Accessible Tourism Workshop,” which is planned to take place on October 21-22, 2021 under the auspices of Kyrenia Municipality, has been discussed. In addition, the delegation was also informed about the activities of the UCLG-MEWA Departments, and issues such as Smart Cities, City Diplomacy and Local Governance, Culture and Tourism, Social Inclusion, and Gender Equality were also discussed.
UCLG-MEWA Secretary-General Mehmet Duman expressed his gratitude to the delegation for their visit. He also highlighted the importance of the “Accessible Tourism Workshop” being hosted by Kyrenia Municipality. Duman has also touched upon the significance of frequent participation of the municipalities from the Turkish Republic of Northern Cyprus in UCLG-MEWA’s activities.
