Mayoral Conference on the City Prosperity Initiative

Distinguished UCLG-MEWA Member,

I am pleased to invite you to the Mayoral Conference on the City Prosperity Initiative (CPI), hosted by UN-Habitat, World Assembly of Islamic Cities (WAIC) and International City Leaders on July 28th and 29th 2015 at the United Nations Office in Vienna.

Conceived by UN-Habitat, the City Prosperity Initiative (CPI) is an innovative approach that combines metrics and policy dialogue to promote sustainable urban development. The City Prosperity Initiative is a new tool that is designed to assist decision makers to formulate informed policy interventions in order to enhance urban prosperity in a holistic and integrated manner. The CPI measures prosperity across six dimensions – productivity, infrastructure, quality of life, equity and social inclusion, environmental sustainability and governance and legislation.

UN-Habitat and International City Leaders (ICL) are working together to promote the City Prosperity Initiative (CPI). The CPI provides evidence-based information for the adoption of innovative solutions in the areas of urban planning and design, municipal finance and institutions and legislation to assist city leaders to guide their cities towards economically, socially, politically and environmentally prosperous urban futures.

We would like to meet you at this Conference which we are supporting and participating in as UCLG-MEWA.

Sincerely,

Mehmet DUMAN
UCLG-MEWA Secretary General
