Majdi Al Saleh, Minister of Local Government of Palestine, paid a working visit to the UCLG-MEWA General Secretariat in Istanbul on 18 March 2022.
The challenging military and political conditions in Palestine continue to have a direct impact on the inhabitants and local governments. On July 7, 2021, UCLG-MEWA took a deeper look into the impact of these conditions on local governments and urban life with the webinar titled “Right to the City Under Occupation: The Case of Palestine“.
Majdi Al Saleh, Minister of Local Government of the State of Palestine, paid a working visit to the UCLG-MEWA General Secretariat to discuss the initiatives that need to be taken to build a more effective local governance under these difficult conditions in Palestine. Al Saleh stated that the Palestinian central government and municipalities are ready to participate more actively in the activities of UCLG-MEWA.
The UCLG-MEWA team informed Al Saleh of the general structure and activities of the Section and made a presentation on the potential ways of regional cooperation.
