SUTN MARMARA REGION INFORMATION DAY HELD IN ISTANBUL

Türkiye Sustainable Urban Transport Network (SUTN) held an information day in the Marmara region in Kadıköy Istanbul on 20 September. The program consisted of two parts; the first part was filled with the presentations made by the project partners and then followed by a workshop in which targets and strategies for sustainable transportation action plans were determined under five headings, which are as:  Holistic and Inclusive Planning, Behavior Change & Mobility Management, Public Participation, Integration, and Monitoring.

In addition to starting a dialogue on sustainable transportation within the scope of the Junction Network, the program aims to create the content for the Sustainable Urban Mobility Report (SUMP) and White Paper, which will be prepared within the scope of the project next year, with the outputs from the workshop.

UCLG-MEWA is the founding member and project partner of the consortium formed in the Sustainable Urban Transport Network Project. At this point, Istanbul based UCLG-MEWA contributed in line with its field of expertise at the Marmara Region Info Day meeting. UCLG-MEWA General Coordinator Salim KORKMAZ made a presentation on Sustainable Transportation from the Perspective of Sustainable Development Goals, and Dilşad Ölçen, the focal point for the UCLG-MEWA Committee on Smart Cities and Urban Mobility, moderated the Table on Integration.
