Third Preparatory Meeting for Habitat III
25-27 July 2016, Surabaya, Indonesia
Dear members,
As you know, the third Preparatory Meeting towards Habitat III, or “PrepCom3”, will take place in Surabaya, Indonesia, from 25 to 27 July.
It will be the last negotiation meeting before the Habitat III Conference that will take place in Quito, Ecuador, during the week of 17 October 2016.
PrepCom3 will deal with the finalization of the draft outcome document to be adopted in Quito.
UCLG, as facilitator of the Global Taskforce, will ensure the presence of local governments at this event order to advocate for the inclusion of our recommendations in the New Urban Agenda.
UCLG members interested in participating are invited to contact the World Secretariat.
What can you expect?
The constituency will have several official slots to provide recommendations.
Delegates will also be able to participate in several side events organized by partners.
Further, UCLG-ASPAC is co-organizing a special event on women in decision-making.
We will share an overview of the full programme in the coming weeks.
