UCLG-MEWA Presidency Meeting was held on 3 November 2019 in Tehran, the capital of Iran. The meeting was chaired by Mohamed Saadie, President of UCLG-MEWA and the Union of Dannieh Municipalities. Following the approval of the meeting agenda, the attendees were briefed on the MEWA Region and the membership network. In line with the meeting agenda, a presentation on the UCLG-MEWA Strategic Plan for 2019-2022 was delivered, followed by the evaluation of the SWOT analysis prepared for UCLG-MEWA and updated strategic priorities. The UCLG-MEWA Strategic Plan for 2019-2020, which has been shaped by the opinions and suggestions of the Presidency, will be submitted to the approval of the UCLG-MEWA Executive Bureau that will convene between 5 and 7 December 2019 in Izmir, Turkey. In the last part of the meeting, the Presidency members were informed about the UCLG Congress to be held in Durban, South Africa from 11 to 15 November 2019 and the related nominations. The meeting concluded with the expression of wishes and desires by the Presidency members.
