UCLG-MEWA WILL ATTEND THE EKO-IKLIM SUMMIT


The EKO-IKLIM (Economy and Climate Change) Summit, which will host the world’s first economy and climate change fair, will be held at the ATO Congressium, Ankara on March 30-31 under the leadership of the Ankara Chamber of Commerce. Within the scope of the summit, Mehmet Duman, UCLG-MEWA Secretary General, will moderate the session titled “Green Transformation”.

The summit, which is organized to prepare for the global agenda on climate change and green transformation, to evaluate the economic consequences of the measures taken within the scope of combating climate change and to minimize their impact, aims to raise awareness in society as well as in both the public and private sectors. Heads of state, representatives of public institutions, more than twenty international institutions and organizations, academics from more than thirty universities, municipalities with good practices, organized industrial zones, technocities, and sector representatives will attend the Summit.

At the Summit, where 12,000 participants and 50,000 online visitors are targeted, a Fair with the theme of “Economy and Climate Change” and a Climate Museum will be established. More than twenty sessions will be held with 150 speakers from around the world. B2B meetings, certified training programs, trainings, and workshops will be held.

In the session titled “Green Transformation”, which will start at 10:00 on the second day of the summit and be moderated by Mehmet Duman, UCLG-MEWA Secretary General, various provincial and district mayors will share their experiences and perspectives on the work they have done and will do within the scope of green transformation.
