The works are underway to develop a systematic framework for the Voluntary Local Reviews (VLR), which is a mechanism for tracking progress on the SDGs at the local level.
Consultations continue for the second edition of the VLR Guidelines, the first edition of which was jointly prepared by UCLG and UN-Habitat last year. The most significant issue that came to the fore during the consultations was the integration of the Voluntary Local Reviews into the Voluntary National Reviews (VNRs).
Co-organized by UN-HABITAT, Madrid Municipality, and UCLG World Organization, the Expert Group Meeting was held on 23-24 February 2021 with the participation of representatives working in this field. The outcomes of the two-day consultation process are expected to contribute to the second edition of the Guidelines. Please find attached the draft final report of the meeting below for your perusal.
In line with this, a survey has been created to contribute to the second edition. The responses to the survey will help develop more user-friendly guidelines and a roadmap that is the most suited to local needs. You can also fill in the survey to support our work and share your feedbacks to include your areas of needs in the publication that will guide you in your own VLR preparation processes.
