12 June has been declared as the World Day Against Child Labour by the International Labour Organization (ILO) in 2002 in order to draw attention to the growing child labour in the world and to prevent child labour. Therefore, as UCLG-MEWA, we call for a fight against this important human rights violation, and more importantly we invite our members to create awareness on this subject on local level and to take necessary precautions.
