Organized in collaboration with Avcılar Municipality and the US Institute of Diplomacy and Human Rights (USIDHR), the Global Summit for Building a Sustainable Future for Women and Youth, took place on April 8-9, 2025, in Avcılar, Istanbul.
The event aimed at building a more inclusive and resilient world for women and youth by convening local and international leaders, entrepreneurs, and experts to share knowledge, experiences, and solutions on topics such as social transformation, inclusive governance, and sustainable development.
Through panels and workshops, the summit addressed critical topics, including strengthening the leadership roles of women and youth, preventing violence, implementing SDGs at the local level, and inclusive approaches in post-crisis reconstruction of societies. It highlighted the central role of inclusive leadership in producing long-lasting solutions to global challenges.
At the summit, UCLG-MEWA was represented by UCLG-MEWA General Coordinator Ali Murat Duman and Policy Assistant Hasan Barış Gökçe.
