We are pleased to announce that the 10th Annual Report of the Global Taskforce of Local and Regional Governments (facilitated by UCLG) has been officially launched at the UN High-Level Political Forum (HLPF).
This landmark report assesses the progress of SDG localization eleven years after the adoption of the 2030 Agenda and serves as a key reference for the UN.
Key Highlights:

VNR Participation: 70% of reporting countries meaningfully involved local and regional governments (LRGs) in drafting their Voluntary National Reviews.

Coordination Gap: Only 15% of reporting countries have integrated LRGs into national coordination mechanisms for sustainable development, marking a setback for multilevel governance.

Growing Momentum: Over 300 global practices have been compiled, and nearly 600 Voluntary Local (VLR) and Subnational (VSR) Reviews have been published to date.

Paper 1: Local public services focusing on housing, transport, and energy (SDGs 11, 7, and 9).

Paper 2: Localizing water and sanitation (SDG 6) – developed with ICLEI.
