Policy Forum on Development (PFD) Regional Meeting Europe and Neighborhood virtually took place on 17 July 2020. In the meeting where the representatives of the European Union (EU) and the members of the PFD Task Team joined, participants discussed the EU’s financial programs between 2021 and 2027.
A series of consultation process was initiated within the context of the preparations for the “EU Multi-annual Financial Frameworks” to be updated in 2020. The first step of this process, which will be held in the form of online regional consultation meetings, was taken with the Regional Meeting Europe and Neighborhood. At the meeting, where UCLG-MEWA actively involved as a member of the PFD Task Force representing the EU Neighborhood Region, the participants evaluated the new budgeting period and the relevant preparations. It was underlined in the meeting that the EU will follow a participatory and systematic consultation process, which enables local governments to contribute to these preparations.
