United Cities and Local Governments Middle East and West Asia Section (UCLG-MEWA) and Global Fund for Cities Development (FMDV) organized a technical training on Local Government Financing for the district municipalities of Istanbul on 21-22 December 2017 in UCLG-MEWA General Secretariat.
The training, which was given by the FMDV Turkey Representative Mr. Umut EROĞLU, aimed to strengthen the accessibility to market-based financing by increasing the credit adequacy of the municipalities and thus ensure financial sustainability in the municipalities. Within the training, participants discussed on the needs to reach the level of investment projects, Credit Purchase Report preparation techniques, Financial Sustainability Action Plan and Investment Planning in the municipalities. The training, which was organized for the Financial Services Department, Research- Development Department and Strategy Development Department of the municipalities, ended with the presentation of the Certificate of Participation.
