UCLG-MEWA and Sultanbeyli Municipality held a meeting on August 20, 2024, to explore new collaboration opportunities among local governments. The primary purpose of this meeting was to inform the new administrators of Sultanbeyli Municipality about UCLG-MEWA and to identify joint programs to be planned for 2024.
Detailed information was provided to the municipal representatives regarding the upcoming UCLG World Council meeting, scheduled to take place from October 8-10. As a result of the meeting, Sultanbeyli Municipality expressed its desire to participate in the UCLG World Council, and a final decision on this matter is awaited. Additionally, following the UCLG World Council and UCLG-MEWA Executive Bureau meetings in October, it was decided to consider the implementation of a training program within the framework of the partnership. The collaboration and planning processes are ongoing.
This significant meeting is regarded as an important step towards strengthening the ties and collaboration between Sultanbeyli Municipality and UCLG-MEWA.
