We are pleased to announce that the call for applications for the 4th edition of UCLG Peace Prize 2026 is now open.
As a global award for successful local governments that contribute to a culture of peace, UCLG Peace Prize aims at generating international visibility for innovative and high impact local initiatives. Aside from finalists being sponsored to present their initiative during the 2026 UCLG World Summit in Tangiers, Morocco, the winning local government will receive an award of €20.000.
Eligibility
- All subnational governments are eligible to apply.
Scope
- Projects that
- build social cohesion,
- support other local governments in conflict areas,
- counter hate speech,
- host migrants,
- promote reconciliation,
- address urban violence,
- and any other initiative that contributes to a culture of peace.
are within the scope of the award.
The deadline for applications is 31 December 2025. Eligible local and regional governments can apply here.
