UCLG World Council will be held in coordination with the Association of Dutch Municipalities (VNG) on October 8-10, 2024. Under the theme, “A New Peace Agenda for Future Generations,” the Council will be organized in the framework of the celebrations that The Hague is having this year on the occasion of its 125th anniversary as International City of Peace and Justice, which coincides with the celebration of the 20th anniversary of UCLG in its current shape.
PROGRAM
You can already consult the general program of the World Council. Please note that there might be updates in the coming weeks. The statutory track will be organized as follows:
- Meeting of the Financial Management Committee, in-person and by invitation only, October 8
- Meeting of the Committee on Statutory Affairs, in-person and by invitation only, October 8
- Business session of the Executive Bureau, held in a hybrid format, October 9
- Business session of the World Council, held in a hybrid format, October 10
The Plenary Opening will be celebrated on October 9, after the Executive Bureau.
We would also like to highlight that the UCLG Municipal Peace Talks will be held on October 8, including a Plenary Session on “Building the New Peace Agenda for Future Generations” and two workshops, namely: “Fostering a culture of dialogue” and a peer learning event, organized by The Hague Academy, with the support of UCLG.
