Our Founding President Architect Dr. Kadir Topbaş, who served as the Mayor of Istanbul and as UCLG President for 2010-2016 term, passed away on February 13, 2021. Thanks to his immense contributions, UCLG-MEWA became an active organization in the region, and UCLG World Organization became an integral partner of the United Nations and the European Union.
