WORKING VISIT FROM THE FOUNDER OF GREEN REFUGEES PROJECT TO UCLG-MEWA

Dr. Chaden Diyab, Founder of Green Refugees Project and certified coach and consultant for EU climate change and food security, paid a working visit to UCLG-MEWA on November 9, 2021 to explore cooperation possibilities with UCLG-MEWA regarding the Green Refugees Project.

During the meeting, Dr. Diyab provided information about the Green Education program that was launched by Dialogue Association, an organization established in 2014 that aims to improve the living conditions of people displaced due to climatic or war-related reasons, within the framework of the Green Refugees Project. In this regard, Dr. Diyab proposed  duplicating this same program in other member cities of UCLG-MEWA that host high numbers of refugees. Salim Korkmaz, UCLG-MEWA General Coordinator, talked about the projects and activities of UCLG-MEWA, especially in the field of social inclusion and environment.

The meeting concluded with the expression of wishes on future cooperation between both parties about migration- and environment-related issues.
