As we approach the 2026 Global Mayors’ Forum (GMF), to be held in Guangzhou, China, on 9- 11 December 2026, we would like to bring this important international gathering to your attention and encourage UCLG-MEWA members and representatives of local and regional governments across the region to participate.

The Forum will provide an important platform for mayors, local and regional government representatives, international organizations, and urban development stakeholders to exchange experiences, strengthen international cooperation, and explore innovative approaches to addressing shared urban challenges.

The 2026 edition will also take place alongside the Award Ceremony for the 7th Guangzhou International Award for Urban Innovation, which recognizes outstanding initiatives and innovative practices that contribute to sustainable urban development and effective urban governance.

To facilitate the participation of our members, we kindly invite interested local and regional governments and their representatives to follow the steps below:

• Review the Event Information on the Official website and Event’s Program.

• Interested members are kindly invited to complete the registration procedures here.

(Note that 20 November 2026 is the last day to complete the registration).
