LOCAL IMPACT PROJECT’S IDEA WORKSHOP SERIES CONVENED LOCAL ACTORS


Within the frame of the “Local Impact Project,” which is conducted in coordination of Human Development Foundation (INGEV) and with the support of MATRA (The Program for Social Transformation) Fund of the Kingdom of the Netherlands, a set of idea workshops were organized by various municipalities based in Istanbul, in March 2024.  Respectively held by Eyüpsultan Municipality on March 6, Sultanbeyli Municipality on March 7 and Fatih Municipality on March 14, the workshops brought together local government experts, CSO representatives and various local actors.

Including also UCLG-MEWA among its participants, the workshops were tailored to enhance interaction among the figures of local arena, and to come up with solutions for the challenges faced by the municipalities based in Istanbul. Announced to be held at the various districts of Istanbul (Bakırköy, Beşiktaş, Eyüpsultan, Sarıyer, Ataşehir, Fatih, Kâğıthane, Beykoz, Sultanbeyli and Sultangazi) up until May of 2024, the workshop series is expected to open the way for sustainable interaction and projects at local level.

Within the scope of the project, it is targeted to foster cooperation among district municipalities and CSOs, establish solid networks, and develop strategies for meeting the needs of disadvantaged groups in the most effective way.
