As UCLG-MEWA, we participated in the Local Indicator Determination Workshop organized by Sultanbeyli Municipality on June 25, 2025, within the scope of the Quality of Life Initiative. The workshop was held with broad participation from representatives of local governments, public institutions, civil society organizations, and academia, and aimed to support the district’s progress toward sustainable development goals.
The workshop began with opening remarks by Sultanbeyli Municipality’s Director of Strategy Development, Mr. Mehmet Aktaş. Discussions focused on identifying local indicators to enhance quality of life in Sultanbeyli, particularly across thematic areas such as Social Development, Economic and Human Development, and Environment. Participants had the opportunity to assess the district’s current situation and priorities while putting forward suggestions for a more sustainable, inclusive, and livable Sultanbeyli.
This comprehensive effort marks an important step in strengthening a governance model supported by measurable data at the local level.
