The 2026 UN Water Conference, co-hosted by the United Arab Emirates and Senegal, will take place in Abu Dhabi from 8 to 10 December 2026.
As we enter the final years of the 2030 Agenda, the Conference will build on a spirit of solidarity and cooperation to foster innovation and strengthen the political will needed to accelerate the implementation of SDG 6.
Ahead of this important process, we would like to share the following key updates and opportunities for engagement with you.

Global Taskforce will serve as the umbrella organization for accreditations and kindly invites Global Taskforce members to complete this form by 30 September. The information collected will help map members’ interests and planned activities related to the Conference and ensure effective coordination across the constituency.

Local and Regional Governments Day
The Local and Regional Governments Day will provide a dedicated space for the local and regional government constituency at the UN Water Conference. It will strengthen our collective advocacy and joint messaging towards the United Nations, highlighting the central role of water in the localization of the SDGs.
Confirmation from UN DESA regarding the inclusion of the Local and Regional Governments Day in the official program is still pending. We will share further information with you as soon as it becomes available.
It is important that members intending to take part in the Conference complete the form above and inform us of this in advance, so that we can plan and coordinate accordingly. If you are planning to participate, please let us know.
