The Presidency of the UCLG-MEWA Committee on Culture and Tourism (CC&T) was elected anew following the UCLG-MEWA Congress held in October 2025. To ensure an effective and coordinated start to this new chapter for the Committee, the UCLG-MEWA CC&T Committee and Presidency Meeting will be held on 7 February 2026 between 09:30 and 17:30 (GMT+3), in collaboration with the Committee President, Muğla Metropolitan Municipality.
This meeting will facilitate a participatory process on defining the objectives and priorities of CC&T for the upcoming three-year period, serving as an occasion for dialogue between the new Presidency and the members. At the same time, it will entertain thematic inputs from a wide range of experts, bringing together national and international institutions, academia, private sector, and local governments. Topics such as culture in sustainable development, good cultural practices, conservation of heritage, sustainable tourism, and blue economy will be addressed as part of the meeting. Interpretation for Arabic, English, and Turkish will be provided throughout the meeting.
The meeting will be held in a hybrid format.
