The UCLG-MEWA Committee on Women (MEWA Women) Presidency and Committee Meeting, hosted by İzmit Municipality, will be held on 13 February 2026 in İzmit/Kocaeli, Türkiye, and will bring together local and regional leaders, elected officials, and relevant stakeholders.
The meeting will focus on women’s political participation and leadership, gender mainstreaming in local and regional policies, inclusive and gender-sensitive local services, and economic empowerment and equal opportunities.
In addition, the meeting will provide a platform to present the Women-Friendly City Guide and to exchange views, experiences, and good practices among participants through an open discussion.
The meeting will be held in a hybrid format.
